Tomasz Furmanek gets in his kayak one leg at a time just like everyone else. Except once he’s in the kayak, he takes photographs worthy of a 30-second open-mouth drool that most kayakers could only dream of. He has some help from nature, sure, but it’s not just the photography that makes Furmanek stand out—they’re also a representation of his extensive traveller’s résumé and evidently very interesting life.
Furmanek’s Instagram feed is overtaken by countless photos featuring the tip of his kayak against a backdrop of some of the world’s most impressive scenery. His photo series has been two years and counting, focused in Norway and demonstrating the country’s diverse landscape and ultimately doing his nation’s tourism industry a huge solid. Moreover, Furmanek is proving to the world that kayaking may just be the ultimate form of nature-exploration.
According to the Daily Mail, Furmanek works as a software developer and kayaks on his time off, taking photos and catering to his base of 58 thousand Instagram followers. Furmanek’s kayak photography has become so prolific that Canoe & Kayak magazine even featured one of his snaps on their December cover. After two years, you would think that Furmanek might need to branch out and hit a few lakes in some other country. Well, that’s not even remotely the case. Norway is, evidently, the shit. Here’s to you, Norway.
